Mission and History

Hope for the Little Ones works mainly toward the social integration of children who live in state care. Projects and activities are campaign-like and aimed at bettering the environment in the institutions.

Hope for the Little Ones is licensed by the State Agency for Child Protection to deliver a family-type accommodation center (FTAC).

The first ever FTAC for young children in risk (0-6) is started. The Little House in Knyazhevo opened doors for the little ones on June 21^st.

Due to high demand the Little House near Yuzhen Park opened doors. Meanwhile over 40 kids have found temporary home in The Little House in Knyazhevo.

A consultation center called Together with Hope is founded to support individuals and families going through crisis and difficulties so they can have their kids safely back at home. Parents of Hope Support Club where people can share the joys and hurdles of parenthood was founded.

Life in the Little houses happened 24/7 – laughter, crying, hugs, first steps, first words, trust building, accepting and giving love… when suddenly, at the end of the year, we received the acknowledgement of the Bulgarian society.

On November 21, 2018, exactly on the Christian Family Day, The Government Child Protection Agency awarded for the first time in its history the special recognition award “I guarantee a happy childhood”, as well as awards in three areas for quality children and family care. The “Hope for the Little Ones” Foundation’s team was awarded 3rd place in the area of “Successful Changes”.

“Together with Hope” Counseling Center was founded on the grounds of a government issued license for a Public Support Center. A team of dedicated professionals – social workers, family relationship counselors, psychologists and educators with a lifelong experience in the field of helping children at risk – work hard for the sole purpose of children growing happy in a healthy family-type environment.

We are confident in our knowledge and skills to provide the best and most suitable care for the little ones and make every effort necessary to achieve it. We support children and their families from the moment a necessity for assistance arises to the time until it is no longer needed.

In the situation of world pandemics, we celebrated, even though we were not able to attend a real party, our 10 years Anniversary from the start of the Little houses!

The pandemics and the lockdowns enforced by the government, limited severely the friends, supporters, and volunteers’ access to the Little houses, as well as the holding of charity events and events popularizing the Foundation’s activities and cause.

Despite the difficult situation, we continue providing care for the children in the Little houses with unwavering love and affection, creating a family-type environment and conditions for healthy growth.
