The Little House in Knyazhevo
From July 2010 by the end of 2022, 91 children were accommodated.
The center of the “Hope for the Little Ones” foundation, a.k.a the Little House, is located in a private property in Knyazhevo Quarter, rented with a long-term rental agreement. It is a two-storey building with a yard, where six to eight babies and/or young children can live. Here the children have a real home – they have their personal space, personal belongings, the opportunity to participate in all areas of social life – from being fed together at the table with the adults and a simple walk in a stroller to the development of their personal talents. There is someone here who, in addition to taking care of the children they also “see” and “hear” them, by giving them love and care. Here children are not alone in their personal drama, but have the support to accept themselves, their families and their destiny. And most importantly – to grow up able to love, because they have been loved.

History
The Center of Family Type Accommodation with the “Hope for the Little Ones” Foundation has been operating since June 2010, and its official opening was on September 13, 2010 by the mayor of the city of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova.
This is the first Center not only in Sofia, but also in the whole country, being an alternative to the Homes for Medical and Social Care for children from 0 to 3 years. Here Child protection units are set up for temporary care of babies and young children at risk, while they are adopted, taken back to their biological family, accommodated with close relatives, or in a foster family.

Annual Budget
For the first year, the budget was provided entirely with donations of the Bulgarian citizens from the country and abroad, several organizations and companies. Since the summer of 2011, the family-type center has also received state funding, which currently covers up to 60% of the budget. The remaining funds are collected thanks to the support of hundreds of people who believed in the cause and wished to become sympathetic to it.

These are the big ones who take care of the little ones in the house.
The Little House team consists of 6 people – medical and social workers, pedagogues, interns. They work according to a special schedule, covering the 24-hour care of the children and give them a sense of security, the opportunity to attach to and trust someone. Many volunteers show active support to the team in the daily care of the children.
The team of the organization actively cooperates with the Child Protection Departments to resolve the case of each child at a time. The aspiration is for the children to stay at the Little House as short time as possible. Because, even in our best wishes and aspirations, the Little House cannot replace the family.
